What Is a PPR Pipe Making Machine?

A PPR pipe extrusion machine is a single-screw extrusion line that melts polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R) granules and forms them into continuous pipes for hot and cold water distribution, underfloor radiant heating, chilled water systems, and industrial chemical transport. These pipes are typically manufactured to DIN 8077/8078 or ISO 15874 standards.

At Jinxin, every PPR pipe production line is project-based—not a fixed catalog model. We configure the screw design, die geometry, cooling length, and haul-off force based on your target pipe OD, wall thickness (PN/SDR rating), and output requirement. The same extruder platform can also process PE and PP rigid pipes with a different die and calibration setup, extending the usable range up to 250 mm for non-PPR applications.

Yes. The base extruder handles single-layer PPR. For 3-layer PPR-GF-PPR, we add an auxiliary co-extruder and a multi-layer die head. Both configurations share the same downstream equipment (calibration, cooling, haul-off, cutter).

A dual-strand line runs two pipes through one extruder simultaneously, roughly doubling output (250 kg/h vs 120 kg/h) without doubling floor space. Most efficient for 20–75mm. Larger pipes use single-strand.

It monitors extruder output in real time to maintain consistent pipe weight per meter — preventing material over-use and ensuring every pipe meets target wall thickness for pressure ratings.

Yes — because PPR, PE, and PP are all polyolefin-family thermoplastics with similar melt behavior (processing temperature range, melt viscosity, and crystallization characteristics). A single screw designed for PPR can process PE and PP pellets without fundamental changes to screw geometry or L/D ratio.

What does change is the die head, calibration sleeve, and downstream process parameters (cooling rate, haul-off speed, vacuum level). These must be matched to the specific material’s shrinkage rate and pipe wall thickness target. For PE/PP pipes within 20–160mm, the same extruder body handles it. For larger diameters (160–250mm), a bigger extruder (JX-SJ90/33) is required due to higher output demand.
